Cybersecurity vendor Fortinet has acquired Lacework, a startup that helps enterprises protect their cloud environments from cyberattacks, for an undisclosed sum. The deal is expected to close in 2H of 2024.
Lacework offers a cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) that can detect vulnerabilities in application code, configuration scripts, and user access privileges, as well as identify and respond to potential security breaches using AI models.
With the acquisition, Fortinet plans to integrate Lacework's CNAPP into its product portfolio, combining it with its existing tools for protecting web applications and APIs. This will allow customers to secure internal cloud application components and external application interactions.
