Brightside Health acquires Lionrock Recovery for undisclosed sum

M&A

  • Brightside Health, a digital health company providing mental health care services, has acquired an undisclosed sum from Lionrock Recovery, a provider of online substance abuse counseling. The acquisition was carried out to integrate Lionrock Recovery's solution for substance abuse counseling into Brightside Health's offerings.

  • Following this acquisition, Brightside Health plans to integrate Lionrock Recovery's virtual intensive outpatient programs (IOP) services for substance use disorder (SUD) directly into its platform. This will allow Brightside Health to offer a more comprehensive range of services, catering to a larger segment of mental health patients with services for anxiety, depression, suicide risk, alcohol use disorder, and SUD. Additionally, as a part of the acquisition, corporate and clinical staff from Lionrock Recovery have joined Brightside Health.

  • Lionrock Recovery provides IOP for SUD, including outpatient programs and personalized counseling. These services are designed to be a less disruptive, cost-effective alternative to inpatient or residential treatment. It offers individual and group therapy sessions, psychiatric treatment, and medication supported by evidence-based lessons, lab testing, and peer support communities.
