Picsart partners with Getty Images for commercially safe AI image generation

Partnerships

  • Picsart, a photo-editing app, has partnered with Getty Images to launch a new GenAI model.

  • The AI model will be trained exclusively on Getty Images' licensed content, allowing Picsart users to generate commercially safe AI images with full commercial rights. Users can further edit and customize these AI-generated images using Picsart's editing tools. The partnership aims to address copyright concerns surrounding AI-generated art while catering to marketers and small businesses using Picsart for their creative needs.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Picsart already provides subscribers various GenAI-powered features, including an AI image generator based on the open-source Stable Diffusion project. Similarly, Getty Images, familiar with AI, launched its own image generator last year and previously sued Stable Diffusion for allegedly stealing 12 million copyrighted works.
