Hometree, a digital homeowners insurance provider, has raised GBP 250 million (~USD 317.3 million) in debt financing from Barclays. The company's total funds raised now stand at USD 337.2 million.
The funds will finance over 28,000 residential renewable energy systems across the UK in the next two years. Hometree aims to make green energy solutions more affordable and accessible for homeowners.
Hometree has secured over 100,000 customers and is consolidating the fragmented renewable installation market in the UK. With this financing, Hometree expects to undertake the first UK residential renewables public market transaction within two years and position itself as a market leader in the residential energy services sector by offering zero-deposit leases and loans for solar panels, batteries, and heat pumps.
