Microsoft announces new avatars and usability enhancements to Mesh platform

Product updates

  • Microsoft announced enhanced features and avatar integrations for its Microsoft Mesh platform during the AWE 2024 event. The platform, part of the Microsoft Teams communication system, is designed to optimize remote and hybrid team collaborations. The features are slated to be released in early July.

  • The improvements for Mesh will integrate AI to refine avatar creation, better content-sharing functionalities, a new set of emoticons, user camera angle adjustments, and more enhanced user customization capabilities for events within Mesh. Furthermore, Microsoft is set to rebroadcast Mesh for Mac users by late June, broadening its accessibility across various devices, including PC, Mac, and the Meta Quest headset.
