SurrealDB, an open-source multi-model database platform, raised USD 20 million in a Series A funding round led by FirstMark and Georgian, with participation from Crew Capital and Alumni Ventures. The funding brings the startup's total funds raised to USD 26 million.
The fresh funds will be used to scale SurrealDB's operations and meet growing demand for its platform that consolidates multiple databases into a single solution, reducing complexity and costs for developers. The company has also announced the beta launch of Surreal Cloud, its fully managed cloud offering.
Based in London, SurrealDB’s database is built entirely on Rust, offering advanced features like handling access permissions, indexing for AI workflows, and machine learning model processing.
