Terraformation, a Hawaii-based forest restoration company that provides early-stage financing and customized design for biodiversity-based carbon projects, has partnered with Grosvenor Property UK on the sale of the first Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) from Terraformation's Seed to Carbon Forest Accelerator.
Grosvenor is investing in the Regenerative Development of Anlo Wetlands (ReDAW), a mangrove project implemented by ReDAW Ltd and ReDAW Foundation. The ReDAW project is the first VCU sale from Terraformation’s Accelerator. The project involves reforesting mangroves in Keta Lagoon, Ghana, which will deliver 15,000 tCO2e up to 2030 and is priced at just below USD 50 per tonne. The project is expected to sequester over a million tCO2e by 2064.
The Seed to Carbon Forest Accelerator creates high-integrity forestry projects to provide carbon credits to the market.
