Isar Aerospace raises EUR 65 million, backed by NATO Innovation Fund

Funding

  • Isar Aerospace, a German space launch services provider, has raised an additional EUR 65 million (~USD 70 million) as an extension of its Series C funding round in March 2023 . The round was led by the NATO Innovation Fund alongside 10x Group, Besant Capital, Finadvice Med HOLDINGS, and LP&E. Participation from existing investors included Lakestar, Earlybird, Airbus Ventures, Bayern Kapital, and UVC Partners. The extension brings Isar's funding from Series C to a total of ~EUR 220 million (~USD 235 million).

  • Isar Aerospace intends to use the funding to expand its production scale of its small two-stage orbital launch vehicle, Spectrum, which is pending launch. The funds will also go toward the establishment of a new headquarters in Munich, Germany, announced in May 2024. The Munich site would include a factory with an annual production capacity of 40 Spectrum rockets.
