AutoStore, a developer of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), has opened a new assembly factory in Rayong Province, Thailand, to assemble Autostore's robots, a key part of its automated fulfillment system.
The new factory is expected to enhance Autostore's production capacity, and the company aims to produce 15,000 robots within the next 18 months, doubling its current capacity to meet demand from customers in North America. The new factory will reportedly create around 80 direct jobs within the first year, with plans to increase to 200–300 jobs by 2026.
The factory will also bring the production facilities closer to several key markets of the company’s ASRS, including North America, Japan, and Korea.
