Lhyfe, a French developer and supplier of green hydrogen solutions, has received a grant of nearly EUR 11 million (USD 11.8 million) from Klimatklivet, backed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, to build a 10 MW renewable hydrogen production plant in Trelleborg, Sweden.
The plant will produce up to four tons of green hydrogen daily and is the first such project grant awarded to Lhyfe in Sweden.
The funding will support the project's development, design, equipment supply, and construction phases and represents approximately 40% of the total estimated investment.
The plant will supply green hydrogen to mobility and industrial customers in the region, contributing to decarbonization efforts. The first batches of green hydrogen are expected to be produced in 2027.
The company's first plant in France has been operational since 2H 2021, while two other sites in Occitanie and Brittany were commissioned in December 2023. As of June 2024, five more sites are under construction across Europe.
