Awevo Foods launches debut products for foodservice and retail

Product updates

  • Awevo Foods, a Spanish startup producing plant-based egg products, launched its first product, Awevo liquid eggs, in 400 and 1000 ml formats for foodservice, hospitality, and retail sectors. The company also launched Awevo Clara, a hypoallergenic powdered egg-white product that claims to imitate the functionalities of conventional egg whites.

  • Awevo's plant-based eggs are created from potato protein and claim to emulate their animal counterparts' taste, texture, and appearance while being free of cholesterol or saturated fats. According to the company, producing these egg alternatives consumes 90% less GHG, 83% less land, and 95% less water than conventional eggs.

  • Awevo Foods presented its vegan alternative egg at the recent KM Zero Food Innovation Hub's dinner event in June 2024. Awevo also plans to expand its product range, with an expected launch for boiled and poached eggs with runny yolks.
