MIRECO acquires Refrattari Trezzi to expand refractory recycling in Italy

M&A

  • MIRECO, a mineral recycling platform that is a joint venture between RHI Magnesita and Horn & Co. Group, has purchased Refrattari Trezzi, an Italian specialist in refractory recycling for an undisclosed sum.

  • Refrattari Trezzi, a family-run company with six decades of expertise in refractory recycling, is centrally located in Italy's industrial area near Milan. Owing to its close industry integration, the company is an important partner of the Italian steel industry. Following the acquisition, a production facility of Refrattari Trezzi will be incorporated into MIRECO's plant network. The acquisition is expected to strengthen MIRECO's presence in Italy and allow for a higher supply of secondary raw materials and tailor-made services.
