Datadog, a monitoring and security platform for cloud applications, launched Kubernetes Autoscaling in a public beta.
This feature automatically scales Kubernetes resources based on real-time and historical metrics, allowing direct changes within the Datadog platform.
It identifies idle resources, applies one-time fixes, or enables ongoing automatic scaling, offering control over cloud costs, simplified resource optimization, and unified monitoring and management.
Analyst QuickTake: This is important as cloud environments often experience overprovisioning, which leads to wasted resources and high costs. According to Datadog, 83% of container costs were linked to idle resources due to overprovisioning. Kubernetes Autoscaling adjusts resource allocation automatically.
