Sierra Space's Dream Chaser will not lift off aboard the United Launch Alliance's (ULA) new Vulcan Centaur rocket this summer. ULA will instead have its second launch for the Vulcan Centaur flight Cert-2, which will fly an inert payload.
The ULA has two other critical national security preparation launches planned, which need to be concluded by the end of 2024 as per the US Space Force's (USSF) requirements. The Vulcan's first launch in January 2024 was not able to reach its due course due to a spacecraft anomaly; however, the ULA's CEO has claimed the rocket is now ready for launch.
A Sierra Space representative informed Space.com that they still expect to fly the Dream Chaser by the end of 2024 and are actively working with ULA for the next possible launch date.
