The US Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA), with Blue Origin, announced it has chosen India as a partner country in its human spaceflight program, where six citizen astronauts from across the world are launched into space.
The citizen astronaut program requires a fee of USD 2.50, a verification check, and certain physical specifications before finalizing a candidate through a public vote. The six finalized candidates would receive training three days before the flight at Blue Origin's launch site in West Texas, followed by the 11-minute journey in Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.
