Sentera, a Minnesota-based provider of agriculture drones and sensors, has initiated an early access program for Aerial WeedScout, an advanced AI-powered drone that allows smarter use of herbicides. It is expected to be released commercially in 2025.
The Aerial WeedScout leverages aerial imaging gathered by drones combined with AI to identify weed presence in farm fields and formulates prescriptions within a day that can be implemented by any precision sprayer. Sentera claims to cover 80 acres per hour using its high-resolution imagery and direct georeferencing technology while reducing herbicide usage by 70%.
