ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based aviation solutions provider, has entered a conditional purchase agreement with American Airlines to supply 100 hydrogen-electric engines.
The agreement aims to power American Airlines' regional jet fleet with ZeroAvia's hydrogen-electric (fuel cell-powered) engines, which have the potential for near-zero in-flight emissions. American Airlines has also increased its investment in ZeroAvia by participating in its Series C financing round, building on its initial investment in 2022.
