Holcim, a Switzerland-based global building materials and aggregates company, has acquired Mark Desmedt, a Belgium-based leading recycler of construction demolition materials, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition will add Mark Desmedt’s annual recycling capacity, which exceeds 500,000 tons, to Holcim’s existing recycling capacity. It is also part of Holcim’s ambitions to advance circular construction in Europe, with the aim of recycling 10 million tons of construction demolition materials per annum by 2024.
