Altilium, a UK-based clean tech startup, has partnered with Connected Energy, a company specializing in second-life battery storage systems, to prolong the lifecycle of EV batteries.
Through this partnership, Connected Energy expects to monetize spent batteries, while Altilium will increase the supply of used batteries for its recycling plants, contributing to building a circular economy in the UK's EV battery sector. The partnership focuses on developing green, sustainable business models for reusing and recycling EV batteries to create frameworks that can be universally adopted across the industry.
Analyst QuickTake: In June 2024 , the company also partnered with Enva, a recycling and resource recovery company, to recycle EV batteries in the UK. Altilium’s latest partnership aims to extend the battery life by a decade while fully utilized batteries can be recycled to extract valuable minerals for new battery production.
