Skild AI, a provider of models for robotics, has raised USD 300 million in a Series A funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from SoftBank Group, Coatue, Felicis Ventures, Sequoia, Menlo Ventures, General Catalyst, CRV, Amazon, SV Angel, and Carnegie Mellon University. This brings the company's total valuation to USD 1.5 billion.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its model, train datasets, and expand its employee base in AI, robotics, engineering, operations, and security.
Skild AI offers foundational models that can be integrated into various robots, enabling them to climb steep slopes, navigate obstacles, and identify and pick up objects. The models can be used for various robot scenarios and applications involving manipulation, locomotion, and navigation.
