Aldi Ireland launches wines in recyclable 'Flat' PET plastic bottles

Product updates

  • Aldi Ireland has launched "flat" PET plastic bottles made from 100% recycled PET for two of its wines, Chapter & Verse Shiraz and Chardonnay, in 750 ml quantities at EUR 7.99 (~USD 8.65).

  • The bottles are designed to be space-efficient, enabling 30% more bottles per pallet, decreasing the need for lorry transportation by 30%. They claim to be easily handled, have a lower risk of breakage, and have a reduced carbon footprint.

  • These bottles have also been approved for use in Ireland's Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), and the company claims that the wines maintain the same taste and quality as before the packaging update.
