Recyclus, a UK-based subsidiary of Technology Minerals that recycles batteries, has signed an agreement with LOHUM, a manufacturer and recycler of lithium-ion battery packs, to supply black mass, a mixture of lithium, manganese, nickel, and cobalt.
Recyclus expects to supply black mass from its UK facility to LOHUM in India, where the materials will be reprocessed and reintegrated into the battery manufacturing supply chain.
Analyst QuickTake: The partnership marks a significant step toward the company establishing links to a global battery materials supply chain. In February 2024 , it partnered with a UK-based vehicle servicing chain, Servicesure Autocentres, to recycle EV lithium-ion batteries in the UK, which will be processed at Recyclus' Wolverhampton plant.
