The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced USD 14 million in funding toward consumer battery recycling, supported by Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and managed by the DOE's Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains Office (MESC).
The DOE has selected Staples US Retail and battery retailer Batteries Plus to receive more than USD 7 million each to install portable consumer battery recycling drop-offs at their stores, and the two companies expect to create more than 1,000 new drop-off locations across the US.
