AR surgical system developer ImmersiveTouch announced its ImmersiveAR received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical use in operating rooms. The company plans to commence commercialization of the platform in the US immediately.
ImmersiveTouch, a subsidiary of Sinai Health Systems, is the developer of ImmersiveAR, a platform allowing surgeons to visualize and interact with virtual patient plans. The company has served over 4,000 patients to date and claims to have reduced pre-operative planning workflow from seven days to just minutes.
Analyst QuickTake: ImmersiveTouch was selected as a finalist for the MedTech Innovator in November 2023 , claimed to be the world’s largest accelerator for MedTech firms. The FDA clearance further adds to the company’s credibility and follows Sira Medical, which offers AR software for medical imaging, receiving FDA clearance in February 2024 .
