Lilium, a Nasdaq-listed eVTOL jet developer, announced its partnership with SEA Milan Airports and Skyports Infrastructure to develop vertiports and air taxi routes in Italy.
The collaboration's first planned route will connect Malpensa Airport with the city center. The Lombardy region in Milan accounts for almost one-fifth of the Italian population with ~37 million visitors annually. The Malpensa Airport, which accommodates an annual capacity of ~26 million passengers, is one of the busiest airports in Italy.
Analyst QuickTake: Lilium has had several partnerships in 2024, aiming to expand its eVTOL operations and services globally. The company recently collaborated with the Saudia Group to sell 100 Lilium Jets in Saudi Arabia, the Bao'an District to establish headquarters in China, and eVolare to operate its jets in London. It also announced its plans to expand to France .
