OpenAI has announced the launch of SearchGPT, an AI-powered search engine with real-time access to internet information. The prototype is available to 10,000 test users at launch.
SearchGPT uses a large textbox for user queries and reportedly organizes search results in a more comprehensive manner than traditional search engines. It summarizes findings, presents short descriptions with attribution links, allows follow-up questions, and includes a sidebar for accessing other relevant links. The search engine is powered by GPT-4 models and uses third-party partners and direct content feeds to build its results.
Its features are planned to be directly integrated into ChatGPT in future.
