Sandia National Laboratories, a national security research institution, has added a second industrial 3D printer from Lithoz, an additive manufacturing (AM) solution provider, for ceramics research and development.
Named CeraFab S65, the printer will enable Sandia to enhance research and development in AM ceramics and produce pieces with complex geometries. Moreover, Sandia claims that this new printer will enable it to scale up the manufacture of optimized AM ceramic subcomponents at a tenth of the cost of traditional production methods.
