Mycoprotein startup Typcal secured BRL 250,000 (~USD 43,675) in funding from Paraná Anjo Inovador, a program developed by the Brazilian regional government through the Secretariat for Innovation, Modernization, and Digital Transformation.
The funding will focus on technological development, helping the startup navigate the challenging investment landscape and increase its competitiveness in the biotechnology industry.
Typcal, currently at pilot scale, produces up to 100 kg of fresh mycoproteins monthly. The company claims its process is faster than competitors, developing products in 24 hours compared to the typical 48–72 hours. Typcal aims to have its first mycelium-based products on the market by 2025.
