Red Hat, a provider of open-source solutions, announced a developer preview of GenAI capabilities for its OpenShift platform.
The new feature, Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed, aims to simplify the management of OpenShift instances based on Kubernetes clusters. The preview is available for OpenShift version 4.15 or higher.
It offers a chat interface for IT teams to launch prompts for guidance on capabilities or to generate YAML files for task completion. It can work with multiple LLMs, allowing users to choose their preferred LLM or bring their own. The tool also enables fine-tuning prompts using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques.
Analyst QuickTake: The introduction of OpenShift Lightspeed represents a significant step in Red Hat's AI strategy. It could substantially impact how enterprises approach cloud-native development and AI integration in hybrid cloud environments, further demonstrating Red Hat's commitment to making advanced technologies more accessible and user-friendly, as highlighted in our Cloud Tech Q2 2024 report.
