ByteDance subsidiary Pico Interactive announced plans to unveil a new XR headset on August 20.
While specific details are not confirmed, leaks suggest the product could be the rumored Pico 4S headset. Potential features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, dual LCDs with 2,160 by 2,160 pixels per eye, a 90 Hz frame rate, pancake lenses with motorized IPD adjustment, and various sensors for tracking and passthrough.
The new product is expected to offer improved mixed reality capabilities, including room scanning and the ability to position floating panels freely in the room. If the leaked specifications are accurate, the device could be comparable to the Quest 3's performance and features.
