Honeywell, a multinational technology conglomerate, has partnered with Repsol, a Spain-based global energy solutions provider, for a project focused on creating new production techniques for biofuels and circular materials using existing Repsol facilities.
The partnership will enhance and market Honeywell's technologies, which use waste materials, including oils, greases, and biomass, for chemical production and green fuel creation at Repsol's refineries. The primary goal is to produce a variety of biofuels, such as sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, by leveraging the current refinery infrastructure.
Additionally, Honeywell's UpCycle Process Technology, capable of recycling diverse waste plastics into polymer feedstock, is being explored. This technology could significantly increase waste plastic recycling rates. The cooperation supports both firms' commitment to environmental sustainability and emission reduction initiatives.
