ITM Power, a hydrogen energy solutions developer listed on the London Stock Exchange, has signed a contract for the REFHYNE II project. As such, the company will supply 100MW of TRIDENT stacks and skids to the Shell Rheinland Energy and Chemicals Park in Germany.
REFHYNE II aims to use renewable electricity to produce up to 44,000 kg of renewable hydrogen daily to partially decarbonize fuel production at Shell’s Wesseling refinery. The electrolyzer is scheduled to begin operating in 2027.
Analyst QuickTake: This agreement follows ITM Power's initial signing of the 100 MW capacity agreement with Shell in December 2023 . The 100MW TRIDENT stacks will be manufactured between 2025 and 2026.
