Riversimple, a UK-based startup developing hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), reported plans to produce a limited run of zero-emission supercars with a range exceeding 400 miles. The company is collaborating with Coventry University's Automotive and Transport Design course for the car's design.
The supercar will feature a 29kW hydrogen fuel cell, carbon fiber chassis, four inboard motors with 450Nm per motor, and advanced supercapacitors. It aims to achieve a 0-60mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds, a top speed of 100mph, and a range of 410 miles, all while weighing only 620kg.
Riversimple claims this supercar will demonstrate exceptional vehicle dynamics, range, and refueling time in addition to being lightweight.
Analyst QuickTake : As of February 2024 , Riversimple’s Rasa cars are in trials with the public. The vehicles are being built at its R&D facility in Abergavenny, Wales. The company’s “Rasa” two-seater coupe has a range of 300 miles and can attain a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
