Poland has launched its most advanced and largest satellite, the EagleEye, into low Earth orbit aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket.
The EagleEye satellite was developed by an industrial research consortium, led by Creotech Instruments, a Polish satellite manufacturer, in conjunction with the Space Research Centre at the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN) and Scanway, a Polish space engineering company.
The EagleEye, weighing 55 kg, is the largest observation satellite measured at 55 cm x 150 cm x 90 cm. The satellite features an ion engine, allowing it to lower its orbit from 510 km to 350 km for more detailed images.
