YO-Egg launches plant-based eggs

Product updates

  • YO-Egg, an Israeli startup, has debuted its plant-based eggs in Israel, with plans to launch the product in the UK market.

  • The plant-based egg is made up of “white” and “yolk.” The white part of the egg is composed of several ingredients blended into a liquid mass similar to conventional egg whites. The yolk, the center of the egg, is made up of a combination of ingredients using a molecular process.

  • YO-Egg uses its proprietary patent-pending formulations to develop its plant-based egg, which can be consumed as an alternative to sunny-side-up eggs. The company also produces YoEggs, an egg white protein snack, YoEggs Dessert, and YoEggs Protein Bar. Yosefa Ben Cohen, one of the founders of YO-Egg, was selected as a finalist for the AgriFood Women’s Entrepreneurship Competition 2021 following the company’s innovation of the bullseye plant-based egg.
