Sesame, a virtual healthcare marketplace, has introduced "Success by Sesame," a direct-to-consumer weight loss program that offers eligible consumers access to compounded semaglutide for USD 249 per month. The program includes clinical oversight from a board-certified provider and is available to consumers with or without insurance.
The weight loss program provides compounded semaglutide in pre-measured, prefilled syringes for accurate dosing, face-to-face video visits, unlimited messaging with a provider, lab panels, and close clinical supervision. Starting in September, the program will also include access to Sesame's fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness content library.
Sesame claims its program is 35%–45% less expensive than similar monthly programs from competitors. The company aims to make weight loss medications more affordable and accessible, particularly for uninsured consumers and those with high-deductible plans.
Analyst Quicktake : In April 2024 , Sesame expanded its existing partnership with Costco to offer Costco’s members access to a weight loss treatment program, which included consultations with qualified healthcare professionals specializing in weight management. Today’s announcement furthers Sesame's presence in the weight loss market and supports its existing offerings through integrations with other programs in its content library.
