Sysco partners with iFoodDS to enhance food traceability compliance

Partnerships

  • Sysco, the world's largest food distributor, has partnered with iFoodDS, a leader in traceability and food safety solutions, to support FSMA Food Traceability Rule compliance.

  • The partnership aims to provide Sysco's supplier network with flexible options for sharing data required by FSMA 204. Sysco will implement advanced traceability measures, including enhanced digital tracking systems and supplier collaboration, to ensure food product safety and transparency from farm to table. The initiative is set to begin in the summer of 2024, aligning with the new Food Traceability Rule's effective date.

  • Analyst QuickTake: In June 2024, iFoodDS and TraceGains, a network technology firm, also partnered to accelerate the adoption of the FDA's Food Traceability Rule, FSMA 204. The partnership integrated iFoodDS Trace Exchange functionality with TraceGains' expansive network to streamline FSMA 204 compliance.
