Lilium, a Nasdaq-listed eVTOL jet developer, has concluded the first phase of integration testing of the Lilium Jet's electrical power system at the company's laboratory. The testing will support the verification of the aircraft's powertrain functionalities according to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)'s SC-VTOL rules.
The new electrical power system lab, located at Lilium’s headquarters, replicated Lilium Jet’s powertrain in a controlled test environment and integrated low voltage systems that supply the aircraft’s avionics and cabin systems, onboard energy isolation units that prevent hazardous energy release, and a functioning charging station.
Lilium has engineered flight profiles, completed tests, and gathered corresponding data in real-time. The data collected provides evidence to the EASA to demonstrate the jet’s safety and compliance with the type-certification requirements.
