Redis, a data processing and management solutions provider, has updated its database with new features designed to simplify software development. These updates will be rolled out for the open-source and paid versions of the platform.
Redis Data Integration (RDI) is a new tool that allows customers to move the contents of external databases into Redis for caching, automatically copying records, and syncing changes. Redis Copilot, an AI assistant, provides guidance on database usage, generates queries from natural language prompts, and performs related tasks. A new plug-in for Visual Studio Code has also been introduced to interact with Redis deployments.
An upcoming upgrade to the open-source version, Redis 8, has also been unveiled. This version includes features such as support for JSON records, probabilistic data structures, and vector search capabilities, which enable AI models to run queries up to 16x faster than competing databases.
