SpaceWERX awards contracts to nine space technology companies

  • SpaceWERX, a section of the US Space Force (USSF) and division within AFWERX, has awarded the Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) contracts to nine space technology companies. The nine companies are American Lithium Energy, Apex Spacecraft Manufacturing, Impulse Space , Inversion Space, K2 Space, Outpost Space, Portal Space Systems, Turion Space, and Wildstar.

  • The STRATFI program advances the transition of dual-use commercial technologies into operational capabilities for the US Air Force and the USSF.

  • The companies received a total of USD 301 million in government funding, which included USD 146 million in Small Business Innovation Research funds and USD 155 million in additional government funds. The companies also secured USD 217 million in private matching funds.
