Amazon has invested USD 19.5 million to expand its satellite processing facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The expanded facility is expected to reduce delays in deploying its Project Kuiper broadband satellite constellation.
The expansion will provide a secondary 3900 sq m support facility at the site to accelerate launch cadency, in addition to the 9300 sq m satellite processing facility Amazon announced in 2023 at Kennedy's runway-equipped Launch and Landing Facility.
The aerospace finance and development authority, Space Florida, agreed to reimburse Amazon for up to USD 3.2 million in construction costs. Amazon reported that the second facility's construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
