Stora Enso, a global company producing renewable packaging, biomaterials, and wooden construction, has partnered with Sweden-based design startup Enkei to develop sustainable, efficient, protective packaging solutions.
The partnership combines Stora Enso's Papira foam, a biodegradable material composed of wood fibers, with Enkei's designer table lamp Reminder (001), made from discarded materials. The chosen packaging, combining Papira foam with corrugated board, protects the lamp while prioritizing sustainability and aesthetics.
Analyst QuickTake: In July 2024 , the company secured a ~USD 472.7 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to supplement its ~USD 1.1 billion investment in its Oulu mill in Finland. The mill produces reusable, fiber-based, and recyclable packaging for consumer goods.
