Bion, a leader in advanced livestock waste treatment technology and sustainable livestock production, has announced that its commercial 10-0-0 nitrogen fertilizer is now listed in the OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) for organic production.
Bion’s nitrogen fertilizer is produced using its patented Ammonia Recovery System, which captures nitrogen that would be lost to the atmosphere and converts it into a concentrated liquid nitrogen fertilizer. Bion claims the fertilizer would reduce the carbon footprint of current organic systems and reduce nitrogen runoff and off-gassing to protect surface waters, aquifers, and the atmosphere.
The company also reports that it aims to speed up the return of soil microbes in organic systems to a healthy and productive balance and reduce the yield gap between organic and conventional crops.
