DAF Trucks, a European truck manufacturer, has announced plans to commence the series production of its new electric truck models. The latest generation of DAF electric trucks is based on DAF Trucks' zero-emission XD and XF models.
The new electric trucks are equipped with engines of up to 350 kW (480 hp) and use LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) batteries, offering a range of battery configurations. DAF claims that the new electric models can travel almost 500 km (310.7 mi) on a single charge, potentially reaching 1,000 km (621.4 mi) daily with an additional charge.
The company has carried out road testing for these truck models in partnership with several Dutch transport companies, including Oegema Transport and Cornelissen Transport.
