Cisco Systems Inc. is finalizing the acquisition of Robust Intelligence Inc., an AI-focused security startup that provides a platform for protecting AI models and data throughout the development-to-production lifecycle, for an undisclosed sum.

Robust Intelligence has developed an AI application security platform that automates testing for safety and security issues in AI models. The platform can detect and assess model vulnerabilities and helps organizations protect their applications against attacks such as prompt injection, data poisoning, and jailbreaking.

Cisco plans to integrate Robust Intelligence's automated model assessment and risk mitigation capabilities into the Cisco Security Cloud, allowing customers to secure their network, AI applications, models, and users in one place. This acquisition is part of Cisco's strategy to expand its security offerings and capitalize on the growing need for AI security solutions.
