Bioceres, a company specializing in the development and commercialization of regenerative agricultural productivity solutions, has obtained US Department of Agriculture (USDA) clearance, enabling its genetically modified wheat HB4 to be safely grown in the US.
The company reports that HB4 wheat is modified to tolerate drought, enabling wheat farmers to reduce the impact of droughts on yields and quality.
However, the company also reports that the new product is still in development and trial and that commercialization will take several years.
