Google has launched a new GenAI feature called "Take notes for me" for Google Meet, its video-conferencing application.
The "Take notes for me" feature automatically takes notes during meetings and summarizes the session. It works for meetings conducted in spoken English, automatically saving the summary notes in Google Docs, which can be accessed from the meeting owner's Google Drive or shared via email. This feature is available to Google Workspace customers with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, and AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons.
Google claims this feature will help attendees focus on the presentation and allow for free discussion during meetings. Currently available for computers and laptops, the feature is being rolled out in stages and is expected to be fully implemented by September 2024.
