BioteCH4, a leading UK-based anaerobic digestion operator, has secured a contract with Lincolnshire County Council for food waste recycling services.
Starting Q3 2025, BioteCH4 will collect up to 50,000 tonnes of food waste annually from homes and businesses across Lincolnshire for up to nine years. The partnership aims to support the UK government's Simpler Recycling scheme, which mandates weekly food waste collections for most English households from March 2026.
BioteCH4 will use its expertise to assist Lincolnshire in implementing food waste collections, ensuring a smooth rollout and maximizing recycling efforts. The collected waste will be processed at BioteCH4's anaerobic digestion plant in Hemswell, converting it into biogas and renewable energy.
