  • Amazon has hired founders Pieter Abbeel, Peter Chen, and Rocky Duan, along with about 25% of the employees from Covariant, a company specializing in AI models for warehouse automation, to enhance its robotics and automation capabilities.

  • It will license Covariant's robotic foundation models non-exclusively, aiming to integrate them into its robotic systems to improve warehouse operations and safety.
