The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is partnering with virtual care company TytoCare to expand virtual care technology in school health clinics.
MUSC is deploying TytoCare's Pro Smart Clinic devices in 150 schools across the Charleston region. These devices replace existing telehealth carts and allow more virtual care stations with expanded exam capabilities.
The Pro Smart Clinic enables remote exams, including heart and lung assessments, throat and ear exams, and temperature measurements. This technology aims to reduce the need for in-office doctor visits, decrease student absenteeism, and lessen the burden on parents.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier, in May 2024 , TytoCare expanded its school health initiative, as five new healthcare systems integrated its services. At the time, the initiative extended primary and urgent care services to over 2,500 schools in 31 US states. With its partnership with MUSC, TytoCare appears to be furthering this initiative and increasing its presence across the US.
